How to Grow Tomatoes

0.00 LBS

Product Description

Homegrown tomatoes are delicious. Tomatoes are in fact, one of the most popular things to grow in your garden. There are a few different ways you can start: you can either start from seed, or from starter plants. Truth be told, it is a lot easier to grow from starter plants as opposed to seeds. You want to put your tomatoes in the ground after the last frost (you'll have to look up the average date in your area of the world and go from there), because a fresh frost can kill off your tomatoes. Now, tomatoes need 6-8 hours of sunlight a day. Make sure they get enough sunlight, because without at least this amount of sunlight, tomatoes cannot survive. Tomato plants are also known as "heavy feeders." This basically means that they like fertilizers. However, you don't necessarily have to whip out a non-organic fertilizer, you can buy an organic fertilizer and the tomatoes can thrive with ease. Tomatoes also like rich, fertile soil, so if you have poor soil quality try a container or a raised bed. You can also add compost to your soil to improve the organic materials in your soil and to make it more fertile. Try some tomato plants this year, you'll be happy that you did!
