Product Description

Earthworms are tiny miracle workers. In the garden, they break up soil debris and covert waste into useful nutrients. Worms aerate the soil and prevent pathogens and harmful bacteria from attacking plants. As worms burrow through the soil, they convert leaves, dead roots, and other organic matter into high grade fertilizer. This fertilizer is naturally balanced, full of bio-accessible nutrients, and also rich in worm cocoons that will breed the next generation of miracle workers. Packing varies. Plants love worm poop! Pachamama Worm castings contain concentrated amounts of the nutrients plants need to grow. Worm poo is also rich in beneficial bacteria - the same bacteria that convert nitrogen from the air into nitrogen compounds that plants can absorb. Numerous studies have shown that earthworm castings have a positive effect on plant growth. They affect every stage of the development cycle, including germination, root growth, plant flowering, and fruit and vegetable mass. Earthworm castings boost these processes because they are rich in beneficial soil microbes. These microbes work symbiotically with plant roots to extract nutrients from the soil. According to the Station d'Ecologie Lamto in the Ivory Coast: "Earthworms facilitate the transfer of N and P from soil microbial biomass to the plant and... elevate microbial biomass levels in the roots. The casts... appear to increase phosphate availability." Want an endless supply of worm castings? Check out the Can O Worms Round Vermicomposter or the Stackable Worm Bin! Plants grown in earthworm castings are healthier due to their stronger root systems. Fast growing roots lead to more total root mass, and this extensive network of roots allows plants to recover quickly from injury or illness. Extensive root systems also protect the plant against drought and reduce the effects of erosion on your landscape. Our All Natural Worm Casting Fertilizer is produced using African Nightcrawlers. These deep burrowing worms produce extensive networks of underground burrows, and they're very well suited for cold or warm regions. They live deep under the soil, and they are largely protected against the elements because the deep soil temperature stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This worm compost may contain hundreds of unborn Night Crawlers. Use it in potted plants, vegetable gardens, the front lawn, or other areas where your plants need immediate and long term fertilizer treatment. This worm compost is produced using only plant materials as an input - we don't feed the worms manure, sewage, or animal byproducts. As a result, the finished worm compost has a mix of minerals and nutrients that match the components found in healthy plants. This fertilizer also meets strict Vegan and Organic guidelines. It's a good idea to add Worm Castings to potted plants and raised bed planters 2-4 times a year (depending on the nutrient needs of the plants you're growing). When adding castings, there's no need to till them into the soil. Simply add a layer of Nature's Guide Earthworm Castings to the top of your houseplants or other plant pots. There is no odor, so you don't have to worry about ventilation or unpleasant smells. These organic worm castings can also be used to brew up a batch of compost tea. Compost tea is produced from a mixture of bacteria rich compost and dechlorinated water. It's a liquid fertilzer that can be used as either a foliar spray or a soil drench. When it's sprayed on leaves, compost tea helps prevent and cure diseases that attack the exposed surface of many different plants. Compost tea also increases the amount of nutrients available to the plant and accelerates the breakdown of toxins. Specifications:

Produced in Texas, this fertilizer bears the "Go Texan" logo. By choosing this fertilizer, you support organic farming and local agriculture. Mix ratios
This fertilizer can be used with a variety of different plants as long as you mix it to the proper concentration. For newly planted potted plants, use 1 part of Earthworm Castings for every 3 parts soil. For older potted plants, add 1 to 2 inches of Earthworm Castings to the soil along with an equal amount of water. Repeat this every 2-3 months. For roses, shrubs, and berries, use 1 part castings to 2 parts soil. Each tree or rose bush will need about 4 cups of Earthworm Castings spread over the root zone of the plant. For perennials, work half a cup of worm castings into the soil above the root zone. Perennials have high nutrient needs, so you'll need to fertilize them 3 times during the year (once in the Spring, once in the early summer, and once more in the early fall). For Vegetables and Annual Flowers, use 1-2 inches of Earthworm Castings in each seed hole or furrow. After 2 months, add 1/2 cup of Earthworm Castings per linear foot of row length. For easy application, you can mix the castings with soil in a ratio of 1:3 and scatter the blend along each row of plants. Okay, you've read this far, so we can finally satisfy your curiosity. Pachamama is the “Mother Earth” of the Incan people. She is the deity who presides over planting and harvesting, and these Worm Castings bear her name. For a fruitful harvest, use Pachamama Earth Worm Castings!
