The Weatherproof Thermometer can resist splashes of water from waves and garden hoses. It is not designed for long term immersion, but the corrosion proof black styrene case requires very little maintenance. The high-impact case also protects against damage from day-to-day accidents while maintaining the calibration of this sensitive thermometer.

It's easy to intentionally access the innards of the bluewater thermometer, but the design prevents accidental opening. The bezel is hinged and has a knurled brass locking lug. There's also an "O" ring seal that helps keep moisture away from the battery, and the battery is held in place with a battery clip.

The glass bezel is glare resistant. It has a matte finish that mutes reflections and sun streaks. The crystal glass is also resistant to scratches or chips.
