Sweet Marketmore Cucumber -Cucumis sativus. Tender Annual 6"-8" fruit. One of the most widely grown slicer/salad varieties. Prolific 4-6 ft. vines. Sunrise Orange Bell Sweet Pepper -Capiscum annuum. 18-24" Tender Annual. This early and attractive bell pepper turns orange-yellow at maturity and is one of the earliest and most productive varieties to grow for the North. Disease resistant. Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost. Transplant when soils are warm, spacing seedlings 12-18 in. apart. Enrich soil with mature compost. Jack-O-Lite Pumpkin -Cucurbita pepo. 6-12 lbs. These beautiful orange jack-o-lantern fruits are great for carving and baking. Produces both round and flattened globes, providing an interesting mix of shapes. Sow 2-3 seeds every 3-4 feet in rows 3-6 feet apart when danger of frost has passed. Thin to one plant. Can also be sown indoors 2-4 weeks before last frost and transplanted very carefully. Enrich soil heavily with mature compost. Pick when pumpkin turns orange, or before the first hard frost. Scarlet Nantes Carrot -Daucus carota var. sativus 6-8 in. long Hardy Biennial. 6-8 in. Sweet and crisp, Scarlet Nantes is a superb fresh-eating carrot. Great for bunching, storing, or as a baby gourmet vegetable. Had the highest number of amino acids in our nutritional research. Nearly coreless. Slow Bolt Cilantro -Coriandrum sativum 2-3 ft. plant height. Hardy Annual. The classic Mexican herb, this strain was bred for maximum leaf production and bolt resistance in the heat.
