Turn heads with this upside down tomato and herb planter. The Topsy Turvy Tomato and Herb Planter is great for growing produce when space is at a premium. It turns empty space on the patio or along a window into an eye-catching vertical garden.

Many gardeners now raise their tomatoes and herbs upside down to take advantage of rapid growth and natural protection against weeds. When plants spend less energy fighting gravity, they turn their attention to producing lots of fruit and larger fruit too. Since weeds will try to grow upwards, they can't get established and they don't compete with the vegetables in this planter.

Here's how it works: the Topsy Turvy planter is a shaped like a windsock, with holes at the bottom and along the sides for plants to grow out of. Fill it with soil and fill the holes with seedlings. Then, hang the Topsy Turvy from a hook on the wall and water the plants by pouring water into the opening at the top. That's it.

The plants will stretch out towards the ground, with gravity pulling water and nutrients from the bag of soil and out to the leaves. Since the stems never touch the ground, there's also less chance of ants, aphids, or other insects from attacking your plants. Any weeds that try to spring up in the Topsy Turvy will be easily visible as they try to grow the wrong direction (and the top of the bag is designed to prevent weeds from sprouting in the first place).

The bag is made from UV resistant, plasticized fabric. It is waterproof and designed to last for many years. The hanging apparatus is rustproof and also designed with durability in mind. The attachment point also has a swivel mounting, so the bag can be turned as necessary.

The Tomato & Herb Planter is compatible with organic gardening techniques. Since you control all of the inputs (soil, water, and fertilizer), it's easy to make sure that no chemical contamination occurs.

The planter also extends your growing season because it can be brought indoors when inclement weather approaches. You can even grow plants out of season in this planter, but you will need seedlings that have already started growing (3-8 inch tall plants) to get started. If you plant seeds, they will try to grow right-side up, and will be stifled by the anti-weed features of this grow bag.

There are portholes for a total of 10 different plants (9 along the sides and 1 at the bottom). For the best results, we suggest planting 2 seedlings per porthole, and following companion planting guidelines. There's plenty of room inside the bag for 20 different root systems, and this way if one of your plants dies, there's no wasted space.
