The tickle me plant is fun for all ages, as it reacts to contact. When you touch it, the leaves fold inward and droop down. Minutes later, they spring back to life. In addition to this, the plant leaves and flowers also fold down during nightfall, and spring back to life when the sun rises the next day. This action/reaction makes it a fun plant to have in the garden for all ages, and is a perfect starter plant for younger children.

Another outstanding feature of this kit is that the greenhouse and the mini-flower pots are re-usable. However, keep in mind that they mini greenhouse is not recommended for children under 5 due to small parts.

The plant itself is a Mimosa pudica which is known for its droopy qualities (upon contact), and it also features purple or pink flower heads as well. It's an aesthetically pleasing plant to look at, and obviously has some value in entertainment as well. Since it likes to fold down upon contact or during the evening, the name Mimosa pudica is approrpiate, as pudica means "shy."
