Fiskars Stay Sharp Plus Push Reel Mower

After some success with their first push reel mower, Fiskars introduced two additional reel mower models, each with a different design.

We like this model, the StaySharp Plus, the best of the three Fiskars reel lawnmowers because of the cutting height range, the forward throw design, and the simpler design compared to their first model, the Fiskars Momentum reel lawn mower (which is now called the StaySharp Max).

The StaySharp Plus Reel Mower combines patent-pending technology with superior ergonomics to give you high cutting performance without using gasoline or electric power.

The Stay Sharp Plus reel mower features an InertiaDrive Reel for what Fiskars claims is 75 percent more cutting power than standard reel mowers. We don't know if it's really 75 percent, but the mower does feel easier to push -- particularly with thicker grasses like Zoysia and St. Augustine. (We also really like the Mascot reel mowers for thicker grasses.)

The StaySharp Cutting System is made to avoid the inconvenience of blade sharpening as often. A unique grass discharge chute throws clippings forward cleanly, away from your feet. The combination of these technologies makes the StaySharp Plus Reel Mower 40 percent easier to push than other reel mowers, according to Fiskars. This allows you to mow with less effort. Our experience using the mower is that it is indeed easier to push through tougher and thicker grasses, although it is hard to tell with other grass types.
