This Soil Thermometer is ideal for testing planting conditions. It measures soil temperatures up to 3 inches deep, and helps judge if the time is right for putting seeds in the ground. It ranges from 30 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
The body of the thermometer is aluminum, which transfers heat very quickly and gives a reading in about 3 minutes. The top of the thermometer is fog resistant glass, and the interior of the dial is sealed.
Just in case you forget planting temperatures (or never knew them in the first place) the dial is labeled with ideal temperatures for Cabbage, Celery, Onion, Peas, Broccoli, Tomato, Corn, Cantaloupe, Cucumber, Peppers, Pumpkin, Squash, Watermelon, and Okra.
