How does it work?

Clearly, this isn't a planter that gives plants the ability to walk over to a water tap and get a drink themselves, but it does have a unique reservoir and wick system that distributes the water directly to the plant's soil and roots. When you add water to the reservoir, it is absorbed by the wick and transfered to the soil and roots.

When the reservoir gets low, it's time to add more water for your plant.

Overwatering you plant is extremely dangerous and can cause root rot. It is much harder to revive a plant that has too much water than it is to revive a plant that is too dry, and with this self watering hanging basket, you never have to guess how much water your plant needs.

The opening on the side of the basket makes it easy to access the reservoir when you do need to add water. This self watering basket keeps plant moist up to four weeks.
