The Scotts Classic reel mower has a one to two year sharpening interval. The sharpening itself is a simple process which takes just a few minutes with this kit.

These sharpening kits are designed only to be used with manual reel lawnmowers from the American Lawnmower Company (Great States), such as the Scotts Classic.

It cannot be used with the Brill reel mower.

    Our mower is two years old, but has not been used all that much. It was not cutting much at all. I used the sharpening kit and it improved somewhat but not great. We have St Augustine. Reel mowers are not perfect!

    Your lawn mower is great. Cuts well. But I need to get some sharpening compound. The Eugene Hardware where I bought the mower does not stock the compound. Where/how can I buy some of the sharpening compound?
