Recycled Plastic Stepping Stones

These Recycled Plastic Stepping Stones are made from plastic shopping bags. Re-using plastic bags reduces pollution and prevents environmental damage from fresh quarrying. These plastic stones are a light weight alternative to pave stones.

Each Smart Stone weighs approximately 5 lbs. They are easy to move around without causing back strain, and they spread their weight out on the ground. Unlike heavy paving stones, these recycled plastic pavers do not sink into the ground or cause soil compaction.

The weight saving comes from a combination of composite materials and shape. For the most part, the stones are a hollow shell with reinforcements to distribute weight. The visible portion looks like solid rock, but the underside is honeycombed like a milk crate.

Each Recycled Stepping Stone is made from approximately 80 plastic grocery bags. These bags have been banned in many countries because they they kill turtles and sea gulls who mistake the bags for jellyfish. Taking these bags out of circulation is an effective way to reduce pollution, beautify our cities, and protect wildlife.
