This 8 foot pole is a great place to mount your bird house. The added height gives flying creatures an extra boost - it gives them a head start on flying to the sky.

Certain species of birds only nest in elevated houses. Mounting a birdhouse on a pole mimics their normal nesting environment, and it also protects young chicks from ground predators (such as cats and snakes).

This column will stand up to the elements for decades. It's made from treated yellow pine, and can be painted for extra protection. Each column starts out as a 4x4 board of wood, which is then precisely turned and sanded by a computer guided lathe. The column is shipped in 2 separate parts to minimize shipping charges - those two parts are easy to join together with the included finishing compound.

Choose from several different styles -

Porch style: Classic pattern with square posts at the top and bottom, with eye pleasing curves in between. The same pattern is also available pre-painted in white.

Beaded Flutes: Between the square top and bottom, this post is marked with rounded vertical elements that create an effect like bundled sticks.

Rope Style: The middle of this post is covered with a spiraling pattern like coiled rope.

4-Sided Taper: This post slims down as it narrows from the base to the top.

8-Sided Taper: This post also slims down as it narrows from the base to the top.
