I bought one of these at one of our local hardware stores. It is the best container I have ever had for keeping "compost in the making". There is no odor. The charcoal filters do an amazing job of controlling the sometimes not so pleasant odors that can accompany the composting process. The stainless steel can can be washed in the dishwasher and can be scrubbed with steel wool. I am planning on giving several of these as Xmas gifts this year.

I use it every time I am in the kitchen. There is absolutely no oder and no mess. My husband and I fill it up several times a week. It is very convenient for saving items for the compost bin and ours goes directly to our Tumbleweed composter. Two great products that work and well worth the purchase.

I purchased the stainless steal compost pail because it looked nicer than the plastic pail and would be more sturdy than ceramic. It did not disappoint – virtually impossible to break – looks great on the counter. The charcoal filters prevent any odor from escaping the pail in between emptying – easy to clean by hand and dishwasher safe. A terrific addition to your composting repertoire - whether composting outdoors or with an indoor bin, as I am. Money well spent for an item destined to last a long time.

We’ve had ours for a year - it’s sturdy, attractive, odor-free, easy to clean. There’s just 2 of us using this and we put all our compost-able scraps in it so it fills up quickly (2-3x a week). If there were more of us, I’ll bet we’d have a "whose turn is it to empty the compost pail?’ debate - especially in winter (our compost pile is some distance from the house). But for the 2 of us, this is perfect.

If you’re going to compost, this pail is worth every penny.... and the filters really do work. I have recommended it to many friends.

We used to have the white ceramic compost pail - until it lost an argument with our kitchen floor. I bought the steel one as a replacement since it wouldn’t break. Although the dimensions given look similar to the white ceramic crock, this seems bigger. The filters for it are much better, though - we have no odors whatsoever! It is also ridiculously easy to clean.
