Don’t let rainwater go to waste - store it under your deck or alongside your house with the Rain Hog. This rain barrel is both
efficient and unobtrusive. It's a modular system, so you can
add units as your water needs grow.
The Rainwater Hog is shaped like a puzzle piece, with notched ends that can be intertwined for maximum use of space. Each unit holds about 51 gallons of water, and multiple RainHogs can be connected in series. They are made from food grade plastic resin.
Connecting rain barrels in series cuts down on the amount of plumbing that's required. Only one rain hog needs to be connected to the downspout, which saves installation time and materials. When one cell fills up with water, it will overflow to the next one down the line.
The Rainwater Hog can be used vertically or horizontally. It's designed to rest on its back or on its side without any modification. The rain cistern units have a shallow depth, which is ideal for holding water in narrow areas, such as under wooden deckways or in the alley space alongside a building.
The dark green color is neutral and HOA friendly. The plastic is UV stabilized (UV8) and will prevent algae growth inside the container. Fittings are brass and glass reinforced nylon.
This modular cistern is also a great way to passively heat and cool a building. It provides 10% greater thermal massing than concrete, because water can absorb a lot of energy during the day and will slowly radiate it out during the night (just like thick adobe walls).
At the end of their lifespan, every component of these water barrels is 100% recyclable.

To install the Rain Hog rain barrel against a wall, we recommend using a Wall Kit.
If you have a problem with roof debris (leaves, dust, and pebbles) or want fine control over the flow of water, we also offer an Inlet/Outlet Kit. This kit includes a mesh screen to filter out fallen leaves, insects, and other unwanted material. It also has a plastic ball valve for draining water with regulated control.
