DIY Rain Barrel Kit with Downspout Diverter

So you want a rain barrel, but you want to make it yourself out of a trash can, food grade barrel or even an old whiskey barrel you already have. Now you can make your own rain barrel with the help of one of these rain barrel kits with a downspout diverter.

Each rain barrel kit comes with all the supplies needed to turn just about any bin or barrel into a rain collection system. All you need is a drill for the included hole saws to make the holes in your barrel.

Rain barrel kits like this help collect natural rain water, which is an easy way to cut down on water bills during the hot, summer months when plants need water the most.

This DIY rain barrel kit even comes with a downspout diverter that attaches to a gutter downspout and redirects the water straight into the rain barrel. It fits with 2"x3", 3"x4", 3" round and 5" commercial downspouts.

Please Note: Water collected in a rain barrel (no matter how well you've cleaned it) should not be consumed.
