Your composter includes a bag of bran, molasses, and concentrated anaerobes called Bokashi. This blend should be added to your compost just like adding yeast to bread. It introduces a balanced amount of helpful bacteria and the food they need to digest tough scraps. Before putting any compost in your Indoor Kitchen Composter, start by laying down a layer of Happy Farmer Bokashi. Then, when you add fresh food waste in the Kitchen Composter it's important to add additional Bokashi on top of every layer of scraps.Includes a 2.25 pound bag of Bokashi! Be sure to close the lid tightly after every use to ensure an anaerobic environment. Once the container is filled to capacity, let the waste continue to ferment for two weeks and then transfer into your garden or planter. When the fermentation process is complete, there will be very little visible change to the compost. Most of the bacterial action will take place from the inside out. Even though your scraps may look unaffected, they will quickly break down into nutrients when mixed with soil. Allow at least two more weeks for the fermentation process to continue in the soil before planting your favorite veggies, flowers, trees, etc. Make sure to drain the liquid released during the anaerobic process from the Indoor Anaerobic Kitchen Composter frequently to prevent putrefaction of your compost. This Compost Tea is perfect for watering houseplants of pouring down the kitchen sink. The liquid contains millions of active bacteria - compost tea acts like a fertilizer by promoting nutrient cycling in soil, and the hungry bacteria will naturally reduce clogs by dissolving organic material before it accumulates in your house pipes.
