This is the worst composter I could of purchased. It is a pain to use, nothing but easy when your hands are full of vegetable waste from cooking. We purchased this composter to set up a composting system at our golf course, going green campaign. Due to the design, heavy etc no body would even attempt a second to use the thing. . After one year I finally took the thing home and this is where I am now. Disgusted! And not composting at our golf course, which really bothers me. You have many great ideas but this one --- I give it a thumbs down. Sorry!

I have tried many composters - several of the plastic ones, vermiculture, a pile in the yard and a screened pile in the yard! I had to give up on all of them due to the worms needing too much attention, rodents finding their way into the piles, and the plastic ones breaking or being too heavy/akward to use. Also, none of the others had enough capacity for us.
The JK 270 is the perfect solution (for me). We eat a lot of vegetables and have a lot of kitchen and some yard waste. We use it exactly as advised - fill one side, then the other and it works like a composting dream come true. The only extra help it needs is that I occasionally wipe off the compost drips on the outside if it gets too much liquid. It is easy to turn, easy to add to and NOT PLASTIC! I add straw or leaves when I have them from the yard and use a compost starter/accelerator.
For me, it is worth every penny and more. Probably this won’t be the best help since it is the direct opposite of the previous review, but give it some thought, and if you have been unhappy with previous composters for any of my above reasons, I think you will love this one.
