This kit includes 4 American made tools - a large trowel, a small trowel, a weeder, and a cultivator. All four tools are made from stainless steel and fitted with matching orange vinyl handles.
These tools will not chip, stain, or rust, because they are made of heavy duty 400 series stainless steel. Ferritic stainless steel tools contain very little nickel, which is a good thing if you're allergic to nickel alloys. Each tool is made from a single piece of metal, stamped into shape at high pressure. This preserves molecular structure within the metal, and creates a tougher, more durable tool.
Your order includes one of each of the following:
14 Inch Trowel
The large trowel is 14 inches from the tip to the butt of the handle. This is just the right length for planting seedlings, digging up weeds by the root, or breaking soil. In a pinch, it can be used as a machete or for fending off garden snakes. The large trowel has measurements stamped onto the back of the blade, so you can easily dig and measure the depth at the same time. The measurements are in inches and centimeters. The blade is 3 inches wide, and curves up inside the handle.
10 Inch Trowel
The small trowel is a little over 1.5 inches wide, and it measures 10 inches from the tip of the blade to the butt of the handle. It is also marked with a depth for gauging planting depth, but this trowel is better suited for turning the soil, harvesting potatoes, or planting bulbs. The narrower blade takes less work to push into compacted ground, so this small trowel is a good complement to the larger tool.
12 Inch Weeder
The stainless steel weeder is a great tool for digging up invasive plants and yanking them out of the ground. It has a forked tongue that digs into weeds and holds on like a serving fork. The long handle provides excellent leverage for pulling up vines, root balls, and rhizomes without leaving anything behind that might be tempted to grow back.
12 inch Cultivator
This cultivator has 3 claws, with each claw splayed out 45 degrees away from its neighbor. It's excellent for grabbing tap roots or well established vines and yanking them out of the ground. The claw cultivator has a long handle and good reach.
This tool also makes a great back scratcher, for days when working in the garden leaves you itchy all over.
Buy American, and buy quality. These tools come with a lifetime guarantee from the manufacturer. They are made at a factory with stringent pollution controls and have a smaller carbon footprint because they are locally produced.
