The
Father Time Sundial shows an old man holding a scythe. This is the same figure that's shown at New Year's, representing the achievements of the past. Father Time is the husband of Mother Earth, and this sundial is a perfect display piece for a garden or flowerbed.
At the base of the dial is the inscription
"Grow old along with me. The best is yet to be." These words were famously written in Robert Browning's poem "Rabbi Ben Ezra", and later sung by John Lennon.
This sundial is made of solid sand cast brass with verdigris highlights.
