Inspired by tools used by New England clammers, this veggie hod incorporates a mesh screen with solid wood sides and a wooden handle.

This vegetable hopper is great for harvesting plants from a garden, carrying picnic supplies, or even carrying tools. The open mesh bottom allows dirt and moisture to pass through so that you can rinse off your harvest and carry it with you. The basket's contents have a chance to dry out and shed soil, but they wont fall out and get dirty again.
