When it comes to scissors, shears, pruners and other cutting tools, Fiskars has always stood out as a quality leader. So when Fiskars introduced the new Momentum Push Reel Lawn Mower, we took notice.

The Fiskars Momentum Push Reel Lawn Mower was Member Tested and Recommended by the National Home Gardening Club.

Fiskars has taken a completely fresh look at how to approach the design of a reel mower, and they came up with something unique and different. Most reel mowers throw grass behind the mower, but Fiskars decided to design a front throwing reel mower instead. A new optional grass catcher now available!

See our complete selection of Reel Mowers.

They have also broken new ground with the tallest maximum cutting height we've ever seen for a reel mower, 4 inches. We don't know if you'll actually want to keep your grass that high, but you can! The mower has an 18 inch cutting width.

The Fiskars reel mower uses a large diameter cutting reel and heavy blades. The blades are powered by a chain and chainring, sort of like a bicycle. The chain and gearing of the mower can deliver twice the energy needed to power through your lawn. This makes the mower easier to push, even through thicker grass. In fact, according to Fiskars, this mower reduces push force by about 30 percent when used in long grass.

Looking for the right push mower? Take a look at our Reel Mower Reviews: Lars's Quick Picks.

The Fiskars Momentum manual reel mower also features a silent cut design, where the cutting reel and the stationary blade are set 0.003 inches apart, so the cutting reel and stationary blade narrowly avoid making contact with one another. That's less than the thickness of a blade of grass! This means there's less wear and tear on the mower blades because there is no metal-on-metal contact of the blade against the cutter bar. This results in longer blade life and easier maintenance.

$10 flat shipping to the contiguous 48 states.

This reel mower is also better at mowing edges than most other reel mowers, which have thick wheels on both ends of the blades. The unique Fiskars mower design means that it mows edges up to three times closer than other reel mowers, and uncut strips of grass are never left underneath either wheel.

The Fiskars mower is also very ergonomically sound. It's designed with comfort in mind. When you buy the Fiskars Momentum reel mower, you'll see that it has a solid, heavy feel and a well designed handle that swivels up or down, depending on your height. This handle has a padded grip, and adjusts very easily.

You'll find that it's able to cut through the grass with ease, and you won't have to strain hard in order to use it. In addition to the handle features, this mower also demonstrates superior ergonomics with a forward throw grass discharge (making use way easier and less messy), and you are able to adjust the height with just one touch.

  • Fiskars Momentum Reel Mower Features

    InertiaDrive Technology:

A large diameter cutting reel and heavy blades store energy sort of like a flywheel, so the Momentum reel mower delivers up to twice the amount of power to cut through things like small twigs, weeds or dense grass that can sometimes clog other push reel lawn mowers. The Fiskars Momentum mower also needs 30 percent less pushing force than standard reel mowers when cutting long grass, according to the company.

    StaySharp Cutting System:

Precision engineering allows grass to be cut without the blades touching the cutter bar, which significantly reduces friction and blade wear. By eliminating the steel-on-steel contact that dulls some brands of standard push reel lawnmowers, peak performance can be maintained without annual sharpening.

    VersaCut Design:

The Momentum delivers the greatest cutting height range of any reel mower with settings ranging from a minimum cutting height of 1 inch to a maximum cutting height of 4 inches. In addition, it edges three times closer than some other reel mowers, and does not leave uncut grass strips under the wheels.

    Fiskars Ergonomics:

The Momentum push reel mower incorporates several new and interesting features to make mowing easier and more enjoyable. An ergonomic height adjustable handle with a padded grip, a quick and easy one-touch cut height adjustment system, and a grass discharge chute that directs messy clippings forward, away from the user's feet.

I was really amazed at the power the chain drive has on this thing it does really nice and a breeze to push. You don’t realize it weighs 52 pounds at all. I will be curious how the grass catcher connects. It is similar to the Handy Cylinder mower in the UK. Only complaint is there should be a option for a solid roller in the front instead of the two little wheels on those pesky hidden little holes.

I have used many manual mowers. This one is heavy, but for me it was easier to use than any other. The handle is very stiff which helps. It does a good job cutting and I don’t get grass all over my legs since it throws the grass forward.

The mower was simple to assemble - just connect the 3 piece handle and mount it to the main cutting unit.

The mower appears to be of quality construction and is sturdy.

It’s also easy to adjust the mowing height.

The included instructions are well written and easy to understand.

My yard is around 12,000 square feet with many "rough" spots with some slopes.

With that much lawn, it is a workout to be sure. I move pretty briskly with the mower, definitely faster than I could go with any self-propelled mower I’ve ever owned.

The mower will not cut tall lawn blades / weeds but instead bends them over and they pop back up as the mower passes over them. Aside from that, the mower cuts extremely well and the mower blades are sharp! Granted, sometimes I go over the same spot a couple of times but overall, it does a fine job. I’ve mowed the lawn twice and although I’ve only owned the mower for a little more than a week, I am impressed.

What I like most? Walk into my garage, pull down the reel mower handle and start mowing. No gas, no oil, no loud noise and best of all, I can mow in the early morning hours.

What I like least? The two front wheels tend to squeak but probably just need some oiling.

    I give 4 stars because I never give 5.

Just finished doing the yard with this. Pushed through even the thicker parts of the lawn with ease and the weight gave it good momentum. Small twigs and mulch that jumped out of the flower beds didn’t ever stop the blades. It’s a breeze to adjust the height and mows within an inch or two of borders/fences. Excellent product from a trusted cutting company!

This is an excellent product. This is the first reel mower I’ve used, so I have no real comparison with other reel mowers, but I can say that I do not notice any difference between this reel and pushing my gas push mower. And other bonuses: (1) it is so nice being able to cut grass in the early morning (as that best fits my daily schedule), and (2) it is a nice therapeutic morning exercise routine. This is an AWESOME first reel mower.

I have used reel mowers(Brill, Sunlawn, Eausan Classic.) over the last eight years and this one is the best. My other reel types I needed to cut the yard with two passes. Not with the Fiskars. It is one time and golf course perfect. Finland must have great lawns!
I really like this mower. If I could give it 6 stars I would!

We have Bahia grass in our yard, and this mower cuts it very well. However, it will not cut the seed stalks from the Bahia, so you either have to put up with that or use a power mower to cut those once in a while. Overall, I really like this push mower - it’s easy to push (I am a 54-yr-old female) and it’s a great workout.

Been using manual mowers since 1960 and the Kiskars Momentum Push Lawn Mower is beyond comparison in all categories. My wife and I fight over who gets to use it on the yard. It is well worth the price. We have no complaints. This innovative design makes all other hand mowers obsolete. The assembly was rudimentary. Be sure to push the spring pins in past the second bump. It is so sharp that it is fun to use just because it cuts so darn well. We cut the grass more often just for the pleasure of using this mower.

So boring, because others have already said it all.
I love my mower. Easier to use than my gas or electric corded machines that I used in the past, and my lawn looks healthier. So do I!

It makes me glad summer is here. I’m a 51 year old former gym owner/body builder who over the years developed the attitude that working out was my "job". After I sold my gyms I found motivation to work out wasn’t there because I wasn’t being "rewarded" anymore (except for better health, which I don’t count as a "reward"). I always wanted to see an immedate tangible result of my exercise. I tried chopping wood for an hour a day using just an ax and developed Bursitis in my shoulder so I had to stop.
I thought I would give the reel mover a try.
I’m cutting about 40,000 square feet. Fortunately (in a way) I’m an insomniac who averages about 2.5hours of sleep per night. So instead of watching the same American Dad episodes at night I started cutting grass for about 2 hours a night in the dark, and probably get another hour in during the day. The only nights I can’t see well enough to do it is moonless nights. Plus after a while you just develop the ability to walk in a straight line without having to see.
I lost 30 pounds last summer and not only did I not started counting calories, I started eating anything I wanted. And I’m a sugar junkie.
However, my Fisker mower has been both good and bad.
Cuts the grass great! I get more compliments on my lawn then I’ve ever had. That’s good.
People that don’t know me and see me cutting grass at 3am think I’m either a "grass burglar" or mentally unstable. That’s bad.
Lost 30 pounds last summer. That’s good.
Put 25 pounds back on during the winter. That’s bad.
Several of my wife’s friends have purchased reel mowers for their husbands, some of who now want to kill me. That’s bad.
My wife and son are now misappropriating my Fisker and cutting MY GRASS to get in shape for the summer. That’s bad.
If I want, I can now swing by Dairy Queen every day and get a cookie dough blizzard and not feel bad about it. That’s good.
I now have regular "howling" conversations with a few of the local coyote families who pass through a clearing that’s about a hundred yards behind our house. Used to be when I howled back they would shut up. Now they just howl back. That’s just kind of weird.
Most of the 30-40 deer who cut through our yard at night either ignore me or stop and give me a look that seems to say "Now what’s this idiot doing out here at this time of night". That’s pretty disrespectful.
All in all. I really like my Fisker mower. Although I am ordering a new one because the one I got last year was to rocks what minesweepers are to mines. So be advised. This mower will NOT cut rocks.

I have 2 properties, 1 a perfect fit for any reel-mower, the other a little bigger, slightly hilly, slightly uneven lawn, and with some obstructions.
The Momentum handles both as well/better than my push-power mower...so easy, great workout, NO gas NO oil NO noise NO fumes...still use a line-trimmer but I used that regardless. Two of my friends are considering this after seeing mine and the results. This mower was just great from day 1, right out of the box. No issues at all.
