The green octagon shaped rain barrel tank measures 29 inches wide x 29 inches long x 18 inches tall and holds 54 gallons. This is a high quality, attractive rain barrel that comes with all spin welded fittings, brass and zinc hardware, and a child and pet safe inlet. The two overflow fittings work with your standard garden hose. There is no special kit to order for connecting the tanks. A great advantage of this system is that you can adapt your water collection tanks to your needs.

A full rain barrel could potentially crack during a hard freeze when the water expands into ice, but an empty rain barrel will not. When there is a hard freeze in the winter time, just remember to keep your drain plug open on your rain barrel and it will be fine.

How do I fill up the rain barrel?
The easiest way to install this rain barrel is to position it under a downspout or roof flashing. A more elegant solution is to install a WaterSaver Downspout Diverter. This prevents damage to the screen from torrential rains, and it is preferred by some Home Owner's Associations for aesthetic reasons.

For extra capacity, order two rain barrels and link them together! Linkages can also prevent one barrel from running dry while another is overflowing (that's useful if you have an asymmetric roof).
