Our best selling composter is the new Spin Bin, introduced in 2010. Compost tumblers are very popular for a good reason. They're easy to use. They keep your compost off the ground, away from rodents. And they work relatively quickly. The only downside is that they cost a little bit more.
The 65 Gallon Compost Bin is another top seller. I like the sturdy bolts that hold it together, unlike some models that just snap together and can come apart when you jam them full of stuff.
At my house I have both a tumbler and a standard compost bin. I use the Garden Gourmet recycled composter, and the Tumbleweed. I've had them for years, and they were best choices at the time I got them. They are still very good choices in terms of quality and value. But if I were going to buy a composter today, I'd choose my two picks above.
