Tap water can contain high levels of chlorine. This chemical is used to disinfect drinking water, but it can also have unwanted side-effects.
When exposed to chlorine, hair can potentially become brittle and lose its luster. Skin sometimes reacts to chlorine by losing its flexibility and forming wrinkles. Hair dye and tattoo ink can also be rapidly faded by chlorine. In gaseous form, chlorine can also cause difficulty breathing, especially among people who suffer from asthma, emphysema, or chemical sensitivity.
This shower filter eliminates up to 90 percent of chlorine from tap water, and it neutralizes the free radicals formed during most showers. The filter uses KDF (atomized brass) to form a harmless compound of soluble zinc chloride. The cutaway diagram at the top of the page has more details.
The filter has a minimal effect on water pressure, and it can be used with a variety of shower heads. It can be used with massaging shower heads, hand held shower heads, or straight flow models. In addition to the KDF chlorine neutralizing material, the unit also contains a polyester filter that removes sediment and grit from the water. The unit also comes with standard size brass fittings.
Each filter cartridge can handle 6-9 months of normal use, and the cartridges can be replaced without replacing the entire unit. You can save on shipping by
