The Razorcut 38 is the newer, upgraded version of the discontinued Brill Luxus 38 model. It has an updated body style, which includes a more ergonomic handle that allows you to put in less effort when pushing the mower.

The Razorcut 38 also keeps the traditions of the older models like the five flame hardened, welded steel blades. Five blades are the optimal number of blades for push reel mowers. The silent cut design, along with the fire hardened, welded steel blades allow the mower to cut grass just below the bedknife and also means the blades can go up to a decade between sharpening.

The wheels are 8 inches in diameter and the blades cut a 38 cm (or 15.2 inches) wide path.

Weighing only 17 pounds, this mower is extremely light and can be lifted with one hand, meaning it is light enough to hang on a wall for storage.

Brill mowers are lightweight, which makes them perfect for most types of grass. However, a few thicker grasses will typically pose problems for Brill mowers. If you have St Augustine grass, Zoysia, or Bermuda, then you should consider something like the Scotts Classic reel mower instead, which does fine with those grasses.

The new grass catcher fits the Razorcut 38 and will help keep your lawn tidy from grass clippings. Once you fill up your grass catcher, simply empty it into your compost pile or bin to help create a natural, organic soil.

The Brill 38 Reel Mower w/ grass catcher is solidly built modern push reel mower. I have a very bad back and was looking for a lightweight mower to keep my yard looking good. The Brill is a pleasure to use and so light I can mow my entire yard without discomfort. I enjoy the quiet mowing experience so much I wish I had a larger yard. Everywhere you’ll read it doesn’t cut high grass. Don’t let that discourage you too much. It rains here quite a bit and sometimes that means the yard looks a bit like a hippie. I’ve never had a hiccup with the Brill. So when they say it doesn’t mow in high grass they mean HIGH GRASS. I’ve cut 5 inch grass with no problem. One drawback I’ve found is the handle wants to pop out when I hand the Brill 38 up on hooks. The first time warped the reel! After the second time I make sure the handle is secured before I pick it up. Not a big deal and it doesn’t pop out any other time.
The Brill 38 cuts grass like a dream and I’m a stickler about how my lawn looks. As a bonus it’s so quiet I can mow when my wife has even her worst migraines and it doesn’t bother her.
I can’t recommend the Brill 38 enough for a great mowing experience, a great looking lawn all while being environmentally responsible.

Just got my Brill Razorcut 38 today! I had it together in 30 minutes, I couldn’t wait for my husband to get home! It was so easy to assemble, no tools! Its been about 9 days since our yard was mowed so I was worried, but no problems at all. I went over it twice to get the spots I missed. It is very easy to push, I am 5’1’’ and I had no problems! This is the second reel mower we have tried, the first one would have been fine to keep but we were very put off by the screetching that the mower made, the Brill (althought not completely silent) is much better! I used an accelerated push mower before and I think I go about the same speed with the reel mower, and I get a better workout! All in all I think it is going to be great, I gave it four stars because I don’t know how it will do over time, after I have had it a while I will leave another review! As of right now I would definately recommend!
