Add food waste at any time. This composter can handle up to 120 lbs per month.

Compost is ready approximately every 2 weeks.

Available in black.

How it works: dual-chamber design
Deposit food and paper waste items in the top compartment. You can add fresh material continuously, and the unit will handle up to 120 lbs (55kg) per month. For best results, cut items into small pieces.

Items remain in the upper chamber, with ideal "hot composting" conditions: mixing, air flow, heat, and moisture (see diagram). The heat eliminates odors, kills pathogens, and prevents seed germination. The compost is later transferred through a trap door to the lower cure tray chamber, where it continues to break down until you use it.

Endless supply of organic compost back to top
Empty the cure tray when the indicator light comes on - roughly every two weeks. More than seventy percent of the initial waste disappears into thin air as compost cultures convert it into water vapor. What's left is a very concentrated compost fertilizer.

Fresh compost has a mild organic aroma, which people often describe as damp wool, sourdough bread, or mushrooms. You can use it immediately, or leave it in a heap outdoors until you are ready to work in your garden.

No odors, bugs, or worms - no kidding!
Once compost cultures are established in the first few days of operation, they consume waste quickly without odors. If a healthy mix of sawdust or other "brown" ingredients are added, the helpful microbes will work at an optimal pace. Baking soda can also be added to reduce acidity and prevent anaerobic bacteria. A bag of sawdust pellets and a box of baking soda are included.

A fan draws air into the machine continuously, providing oxygen for the cultures. A powerful carbon filter removes any lingering odors. Replace the filter every 4-5 years You can purchase a new filter for about $10, or replenish the carbon for about $1.

Use it anywhere!
Fits inside any standard cabinet. Keep it in the kitchen, a garage, or laundry room. Use it outdoors, even in the snow, rain, or freezing temperatures. Keep the power supply dry, using a weather-rated power outlet (available at most hardware stores).

Good for the garden
Compost is high in nitrogen, which is essential for flowering plants and fruit trees. Use compost on your garden, lawn, shrubs, trees, or indoor potted plants.

One batch of compost is sufficient for 10 to 40 sq ft (1-4 sq m) of a lawn or garden. Lawn and garden plants need that much fertilizer about once or twice per year. You can also use one batch per mature fruit tree, once per year.

For the best results, spread compost over the surface of the soil like mulch -- nutrients will slowly seep into the soil during watering and tilling. You can infuse with water to brew "compost tea" liquid fertilizer.

Great for the environment:
This automatic composter recycles its weight in waste every 10 days, diverting over two tons of waste from landfills over its life. This reduces emissions of methane, a harmful greenhouse gas produced when organic matter decomposes in oxygen-starved landfills. Compost returns nutrients to the environment, reducing our need for chemical fertilizers. It is made from recycled and recyclable materials.

Size and weight: 20" H x 12" L x 20" W (51x30x51cm); 17 lbs (8 kg)

I purchased an early model of this composter and have had nothing but trouble with it. The release door has never once worked properly, which causes the unit to become over full and the mixer to become stuck. The inside of the unit is also always VERY wet, which tends to fill the bottom bind with very foul liquid, and has leaked out on my floor several times. The mix also tends to get completely filled with maggots and then flies. I have followed the directions to a tee, with same results. I have also tried to return the unit, and have been refused, instead they send new ’techniques’ to try. It’s a great idea, but overall I am very unhappy with the unit and would not recommend.

This is a really smart machine. It takes your stink trash and turns it into sweat smelling treasure. I can’t believe we’ve been trowing out all of our earthy refuse all these years. Compost is a much better use for it, and with this machine it is very clean and easy to use without worms or big heavy bun to turn.

The is the best composter on the market today. It is totally automatic and easy. No nonsense. Just pop the lid open and start tossing stuff in. The first week is a bit slow because you have to wait for the cultures to set up. But after that the Naturemill is very easy. I have read a review elsewhere and it had video and showed how it worked - reall well. I am very happy with my Naturemill and I hope more people use compost in the future one way or another.
